During Term 3 our Year 5/6 students had the opportunity to work with talented and experienced local artist, Janna Ferris. The project was made possible by a grant, secured by Bournda Environmental Education Centre through Creative Education Partnerships: Artist in Schools.
The students worked with the artist who inspired them and gave them the direction needed to create items in clay that have formed part of a larger collection. The ceramic environmental sculpture is based on parts of Australian plants and these have been made from clay, glazed, fired and assembled in a collage formation on a series of panels. The finished work is a beautiful piece of art and is now proudly displayed in our school office.
The finished piece of artwork is a wonderful gift to the school and a fitting reminder of the talent and creativity of our students. Please feel free to come into the school office and see how fantastic the artwork is.
